Presentation Skills for Students - Grade 8

AT THIS TIME, THIS CLASS IS FOR 8TH GRADERS ONLY BECAUSE 6TH AND 7TH GRADERS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENROLL IN THIS CLASS NEXT SCHOOL YEAR. IF THE 12 SPOTS DO NOT FILL BY APRIL 1, REGISTRATION WILL OPEN TO 7TH GRADERS.

No matter what path your student takes, elevated communication skills will help them find success.

Are they prepared?

This course will help them develop positive habits as they:
• Consider how they represent themselves even when not giving a formal presentation
• Increase confidence
• Maximize verbal, vocal and visual communication
• Use pitch, pace, volume and congruent body language to enhance communication
• Create a clear, concise message
• Decrease anxiety when presenting
• Connect with an audience

No one can know how brilliant you are if you can’t communicate it.

This class is limited to 12 students and will meet five Wednesdays. PLEASE NOTE CLASS DATES: APR 16, 23, 30, MAY 7, 14

Teaching this class is Sheila Miller-Nelson. Sheila's company, Midian, is dedicated to helping people learn how to truly connect to create better relationships and enhance leadership. A former trainer with Dale Carnegie, her experience in communication and leadership coaching spans more than 25 years. Sheila has an impressive roster of corporate, business and community clients and she is excited to help shape these future leaders.
